Thinking of taking the family to Oaxaca in July - my only concern is the weather. We can deal with afternoon thunderstorms, but all-day rain is a no-go. Does anyone have experience with Oaxaca in the rainy season? (both city and coast)

Yes, and it's fine.....I don't remember any heavy rain that lasted all day, but you already know that every year is different.

Hi James,
My experience with the rainy season is that thunderstorms usually crop up around sunset. I didn't experience any all-day rain, but there was one day where an unexpected thunderstorm rolled in around noon. It was gone by mid-afternoon.
Have a fantastic time in Oaxaca!
