O'Hare Connection

I am arriving at O'Hare at 7PM at Terminal 5 (international terminal). Do you think I can make a domestic flight leaving from Terminal 3 at 8:20PM? I do have global entry. Thanks for any advice.

Could be possible, but I would be more comfortable with at least 2 hours. There is probably nothing after that time to where you are going.

You will have to go through security again when you get to Terminal 3, but as you exit customs in Terminal 5 you just drop your bags on the belt and it gets transferred automatically if it is tagged to your final destination. You have to connect on the little train, but that only takes a few minutes. After security, it still can be a long walk if your gate is far out at Terminal 3.

Thanks again. For my own sanity, I may just book a hotel room for the night near O'Hare. I would like to try to make it, but if I don't, then I'd hate to be without a room just in case the hotels are super busy that evening.

If it is one ticket (American?), they will have to put you up and rebook you free if your inbound flight is delayed.

Yes, but even if the flight is on time, I still don't know if I could make it. For example, what if the security line is backed up? And I have stayed at the hotel American uses for passengers in Chicago. It's a fleabag.

Only if airline is at fault. If the delay is due to a gate not being available, weather, air traffic control, force majeure, or a problem at the originating airport that has nothing to do with airline, the passenger will have to pay for hotel & food.

O'hare is one of my least favorite airports in the USA. I had a terrible experience there and have never booked through it again.
You might consider booking more transfer time.

That’s tight, but with Global Entry and TSA Pre probably doable without checked luggage. I arrive at O’Hare on international flights frequently and Global Entry is always really fast.
