Luckily, the air quality in Calgary is better and the show will go on at 11 tonight from Stampede Park. City Hall tried to squash fireworks celebrations out of respect to the indigenous people, but heavy protest forced them to backtrack.
We're not a perfect nation, but we are proud of it.

Lots going on in our town: pancake breakfasts, etc.
I’m going to the end of our street in a minute to watch the local Canada Day classic car parade go by.🚗🚙🚘
No fireworks.
All the pets are very grateful for that.

Lola, thank you! We went to the cruise ship area this morning which is also one of the Canada Day celebrations sites (Vancouver, Canada Place) and we were immersed with lots of American (and other) tourists heading up to Alaska! It was lots of fun.
