Hello everyone,
Thank you in advance for your help. I’m meeting a new love interest in June for a long weekend in Manhattan Upper East Side. Trying to book boutique hotel/apartment. Need help finding quality luxury apartments but not $1,000 a night luxury. There has to be better places to search then Airbnb....which is not coming up with winners. I want “comfortable luxury”. Would like the space to have room to sit and talk and not have to sit on the bed. Also wondering if I should just go with a Boutique Hotel and which ones, you travel experts would recommend?
Sorry , I can't link this for you , writing from my tablet , but the obvious choice is The Carlyle Hotel at 76th and Madison . Pricey , but in your range , and as romantic as one can get . Make sure to have a drink in Bemelmans Bar , with the delightful " Madeline " murals .
This is New York City in June. You will have a challenge finding what you want as it sounds like you want a suite in which you can invite your love interest inside but not have her/him see the bed which is typically in the middle of all hotel rooms.
If you're traveling on a weekend, look into Club Quarters properties. They are business, boutique type hotels whose prices drop on the weekends for leisure travelers.

Get a two room suite at any nice hotel.
One room is the bedroom, the other is a living room.
My former and I used to have our little trysts at the Michaelangelo. Never stayed in a two room suite but the location and ambiance was excellent. (It was, however, about 15 years ago.)
Forget about an apartment. If you need something--champagne, room service, etc.....with a hotel it's one call to the front desk. With an apartment, in a strange town, you're on your own.
