Nova Scotia, Canada- any travellers/ locals?

Hi all

Just wondering if there are any people here from NS or anyone currently there/ traveling there soon?

We have a trip coming soon in the 1st week of July & just wanted to get a sense of the wildfire situation there. I have been following the news + speaking with travelers on other travel forums but thought would ask here as well. I know things are a bit contained in NS as of now & air quality is not a concern right now. Anything that locals are hearing on the local news on what's in store for the next few days/ weeks that we may not be aware of? Just FYI, we'll be traveling from Texas, USA.

Thank you!

I don’t have any info for you but some relatives are traveling there this summer and I suggested they phone the front desks of the hotels you’re staying at to ask them how things are.

I am in Ottawa, Ontario where we have been dealing with our own fire issues. It is the first time in my 25 years here I had to worry about air quality.
Not that it is relevant to your NS trip, but know you aren't alone with concerns.
There 2 sites may help you keep tabs.

This last one indicates only a few active firest ( the green and yellow dots), though there certainly have been many in the past few months.
I also downloaded the Air Visual app for air quality monitoring. It takes data from the government environmental departments and is free. You can add cities for monitoring. I used similar when traveling India last Fall.
Having recently been in some very poor air quality days, I suggest having eye drops and a few paper N95 masks handy. The masks don't clear as well as a respirator, but do make breathing much easier. When wearing, the sulphur and acrid were non existent. But the fines particulates would still penetrate, so limit outdoor activities.

@Luv2Travel That is probably a good idea. I will do that too.

@Maria Thanks for these links & the app suggestion. Very helpful!
