I have a nephew going to be in New Zealand for the summer this year-
Does any one have any recommendations for cell phone there? Or uses your own?

Is your nephew going to NZ from the US? If so, he should call his cell phone company and ask what their international plan is.

For a phone or service?
Main service providers are Vodafone and Spark.

Is his phone unlocked? Basically he will just land and buy a local SIM - job done. look at skinny.co.nz or 2degrees.co.nz Skinny has better coverage as it uses the Spark network which has the best coverage
