Does anyone know how much a taxi would cost? Also is it recommended to line up to get a legitimate Taxi like it is from NYC airport to downtown or do you just get in any cab?

From the airport website, it’s a flat rate:
“Taxi rides cost $36.00 from the airport to the Central Business District (CBD) or French Quarter (west of Elysian Fields) for up to two (2) passengers. For three (3) or more passengers, the fare will be $15.00 per passenger. Taxis are required accept credit card payments.”

Yes, I was just there two weeks ago, $36 for two people. Pick up at taxi stand at the airport.

In any city, anywhere in the world, it's not a good idea to "just get in any cab"! You always want a legitimate taxi, whether you get it from an official taxi line or call for one.

They have a great system there. You line up and when you get a cab, they'll give you a paper with the cab number on it and pricing. No way to get scammed unless you bypass that line.
