New Delhi

My sister and I are going to be in New Delhi for 3 days before our tour starts. We need a reliable and safe airport transfer. Anyone have good recommendations for a car service? We are both seniors and arriving in the evening.

Also any tips on how to spend 3 days that will ease us into the culture of New Delhi? Also really interested in hearing some live raga/classical Indian music but not having much luck on finding anything on the internet. We will be staying near khan market.
TIA.

Check with your hotel, which can usually arrange an airport pickup service for you pretty easily ... and will be the most reliable way to do it.
I'd also suggest checking with your hotel regarding nearby attractions and their advice regarding the general safety of wandering off on your own. Probably better to book small group tours for anything you'd like to see or visit within the city just to have the security of a local guide. I've always found the TripAdvisor Things to do feature to be helpful in sorting thru the various options, and their user reviews are generally reliable in my experience.

I'm going to be in New Delhi in November, including three days on my own between two tours I'm taking.

I signed up for these two activities

Obviously, I can't recommend them yet, but depending on when your trip is, I'd be happy to share my experience afterwards. Shoot me a PM if that would be helpful.

I agree that the best way to arrange a transfer is through your hotel - just email them. I did just that last February. The driver was there with a sign when I exited the arrivals area and whisked me to the hotel - at 2:00 AM! The cost was less than $25.

I love India and have been there twice, but I don’t think there’s any way to “ease into the culture.” It is lively, colorful and hits all of your senses from all sides! Ask your hotel about hiring a private guide or joining a small group tour. I have also had good experiences in other countries by searching TripAdvisor for guides and tours.

Have a wonderful time!
