I just am in the process of starting my itinerary and have a lot of questions that I am trying to find answers to but not having much luck. If I can get some feedback it would be greatly appreciated!
We are staying in Reykjavik and on one of our days I really would like to rent a car to go up to Stykkishólmur and spend the night. I want to get an early start to plan a couple of short stops along the way:
The Settlement Center
Ljómalind Farmers Market
Geirabakari Bakery and Café
My more specific question is this: Along the way, do these towns have any main areas worth stopping to see and visit?
I just can’t seem to find anything on them and we like to stop and spend time in local areas that may have a small “town” feel to them.
Akranes
Borgarnes
Arnarstapi
Hellnar
Any thoughts appreciate on how much time to allow (if any) for them.
