I'm planning to travel from Orlando to Tel Aviv for a couple of weeks, then move on to Nice for a couple of weeks before returning to Florida. I'm having trouble finding an airline that flies from Tel Aviv to Nice. Can anyone offer suggestions for an airline that offers reasonably direct flights?
There aren't any direct flights, not even charters.
Start by going to this site http://www.iaa.gov.il/Rashat/en-US/Airports/BenGurion/informationForTravelers/OnlineFlights.aspx?FlightsType=arr It's the Israeli int'l airport site. You can find all the scheduled flights and look for a destination that's close to Nice, then travel overland. Air France flies to Marseille, so does El Al.
I guess you can look for carriers that fly to Florida, Tel Aviv and Nice and put together an itinerary, but it will involve plane-changes.
Air France's website http://www.airfrance.us/US/en/common/guidevoyageur/reseau/reseau_airfrance_airfrance.htm
shows flights from Nice to Tel Aviv as being "seasonal, 4 per week" and from Marseille to Tel Aviv as being 3 per week (mouse over Tel Aviv on the interactive map, then look at the lower left corner of the map, to see this information). It doesn't say when the season starts, or which days those flights go in each direction.
If you can't get a nonstop and you don't want to use Marseille (about 3 hours from Nice), you can certainly get a flight with one change (Nice has service to lots of places in Europe). I'd start by pricing your whole itinerary (Orlando to Tel Aviv, Tel Aviv to Nice, and Nice to Orlando) as "multi city" on Kayak http://www.kayak.com/flights to see the possibilities. If you don't like what you get, replace Nice with Marseille and try again.
