I was curious if anyone has taken a trip from Marrakesh to the Agafay desert to do a camel ride with a tour guide. I do not want to rent a car.

Read up on what they call "Grand Taxis" in Morocco and see if that is an option for you. Basically you share a cab with anyone else going that direction. If you want to leave before the cab is full, you pay the empty fares. Its still pretty cheap.
Also, I'm sure there are tours you can book from the Medina, but I've never done that.

judylcouture, Normally the camp or camel ride company includes hotel pickup and drop-off, last time i was there with my family we had a big tour in Morocco, our travel agency planned everything for us, transportation included, and it worked out great.
