We will be boarding a cruise at Port of Miami and wonder if anyone can recommend a hotel--transit to the hotel from airport and/or to the port port a plus.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Holiday Inn Port of Miami. Taxi stand across the street, short ride to the port.
Crown Plaza is great--free breakfast, nice room, and transportation via bus to cruise terminal. Small fee for transfer. Hotel is popular with airline people as well as cruisers.
We stayed at the Hampton Inn on Brickell. Décor-wise, we thought this was the most beautiful Hampton Inn we've ever stayed in.
There is a wonderful free breakfast with free coffee and tea all day. The area is very nice with lots of good restaurants.
We did touristy activities in Miami for 3 days before our cruise. This location is a good base because there is a Metromover station nearby. It is a short taxi ride (maybe 15 mins at most and about $20) to the Port. The hotel staff can call a taxi for you.
If you are just flying in and going to the Port the next day, I think the Comfort Inn at the airport provides free transportation to the Port.
You might consider staying in South Beach area. We did that before boarding a cruise and it was close enough to get an Uber to the port terminal in the morning without any trouble.
It was very cool to stay in South Beach and experience that special Miami vibe.
