We are renting a car at the Cabo airport and driving to El Sargento, near LaPaz. My AMEX covers collision and I know I will need to purchase 3rd party liability. Does anyone have advice on the best/honest car rental agency at the San Jose Del Cabo airport? Prices seem to vary widely and internet comments are concerning.
Also any tips on driving from Cabo airport to LaPaz/El Sargento?

Two years ago, my husband and I stayed in the Corridor area between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. We were staying at timeshare beside the Westin.
We used both the AMEX card for the insurance coverage and Budget rental car at our timeshare. I don't think there should be a problem if you rent at the airport.
We tried driving to La Paz but did not finish the trip. The road wasn't bad (this was pre-hurricane) but the route was past boring. Just lots of desert. I would have to say that we didn't get far enough north to see any thing that we really liked.
I would suggest taking LOTS of water and snacks. We didn't see any place to eat. Maybe if we had gone farther, I would have something different to say.
