We are looking into a safari ~4 days for a family of 10 (6 adults, 4 children 3-16 yo). How should we go about finding a tour company and lodging? Any specific lodges or tours you’ve enjoyed? Would like AM/PM drives about 3 hrs long with downtime/pool mid day. December 2026.
Four of us did a great safari of Kenya and Tanzania in 2022 with Good Earth Tours. We had a private driver/tour guide in one vehicle with a pop up roof so we could stand up and take great photos.
It was a first class tour in top hotels and lodges.
The Masai Mara was great, but we actually felt that Tanzania (2/3 of our safari was in Tanzania) was better.
If. you are only doing the Masai Mara, then you should plan to do the wildlife on both the morning and afternoon, otherwise you will waste $$$$. The wildlife is so compelling, you will want to do it more.
Good Earth Tours was excellent and their prices were low.
Another vote for Good Earth. Our trip was longer ago but when we ran into a flight issue that was not their fault they went above and beyond to rescue our trip. We stayed at Porini camps. All run by local communities. Great service, great guides, good prices
