Marrakesh tours/places to stay

Hubby, 2 adult kids, and I will be 3 nights in Marrakesh in May 2026. We are hoping to do a day tour of Marrakesh and then do a day out to Atlas Mountains w/ easy hike. Not interested in riding camels.

I have gotten great tips from some people who have traveled there (thanks forum) , but wanted send this out in hopes of getting more input.

Any recommendations for Riad near the center, but quiet at night? Any tours you took exploring Marrakesh and then a separate day trip to Atlas Mountains?
Any fave restaurants you'd recommend?
Thanks in advance for you input.

Hi Joanne! On our family’s 10-day private tour from Casablanca to the Marrakech, we ended with two nights in Marrakesh. Our tour package actually included both a private guide for the city and our day trip to the Ourika Valley, We stayed in a Riad that was blissfully quiet at night but still very close to the Medina. For food, I highly recommend Al Fassia for a traditional family dinner and Nomad for a great rooftop vibe. Since your time is short, having those tours pre-arranged as part of a package really helped us maximize our time!

Riad Palais des Princesses and Spa inside the Medina is fabulous and a quick five minute walk to Jemma El Fnaa square.

Treat yourself to a dinner and a show at Dar Essalem. It’s as exotic and sumptuous as it was when featured in the Hitchcock film The Man Who Knew Too Much. Jimmy Stewart and Doris Day get schooled on Moroccan table manners in the film while dining there. It’s on YouTube.
