Marrakech lodging

Any recommendations for riads in Marrakech? We are two women traveling together, and we will book two single rooms. We would like to be close enough to the attractions to walk, but not where it's too noisy late at night. Thanks!

We stayed at Dar Kawa in 2019, a couple in one room. I know they have 4 rooms of different sizes, but don’t know if any are actual single rooms. The riad stay was phenomenally good. They also managed private guided tours for us, when we wanted them.

I stayed at Riad Be. Friendly hosts, beautiful courtyard and atmospheric roof top breakfast. Easy walk to sights.

I just arrived back from Marrakech. Deep within the noisy chaos of the Medina I had an exquisite sanctuary of peace and beauty at Riad Palais de Princesses only a five minute walk from Djemma El Fna Square. It features a full service spa/hammam, swimming pool, rooftop terrace, incredible architecture including a ceiling dating to the 14th century in the dining room for under $100/night. My room not only had a chandelier but my bathroom did too! Such luxury and the most welcoming of employees. Splash out for their pick up service. I believed it was 15 euro/150 dirham. A driver meant me at the airport, drove me to the walls of the Medina were a porter meant me to transport my backpack to the Riad. Abdul, the porter, graciously pointed out landmarks for me to navigate by on the way. I really don’t know how I would have found it the first time without help. I think this holds true no matter where you stay within the Medina.

Absolutely do not let yourself leave Marrakech without having dinner at Dar Essalem. For less than $30, you’ll be treated to a five course feast in one of their sumptuous dining rooms and entertained with spectacular dancers and musicians. It is featured in Hitchcock’s The Man Who Knew Too Much with Jimmy Stewart and Doris Day. You can catch a clip of it on YouTube. It hasn’t change a bit.

I’d also recommend brunch or afternoon tea at Bacha Coffee. You’ll be transported to another world and time. Feel free to private message me if you have specific questions.

I stayed at Es Saadi Marrakech Hotel in July 2022 and loved it. It is not a riad, but I had a comfortable room and it was not noisy at night. Breakfast was delicious, and we ate at tables outside under palm trees, near the pool. It was pleasant to wander the grounds and felt safe to me and my friend (women). Helpful staff, too.
The main photo on Trip Advisor shows the cafe tables and pool.

If you can fit it in, visit the Secret Garden and the adjacent weaving store selling handmade scarves that make nice gifts.

Have a wonderful trip. Morocco is wonderful.
