Is there another way to get single act Kabuki tickets at Kabukiza Theater other than go to box office on day of performance? I will be flying into Japan on the day before the performance I want and will not be able to order online from the airplane. I will be arriving too late in Japan to order tickets for the next day, which I want. I have already checked the Kabuki website and it seems like I don't have an alternative other than go to box office on day of performance and keep my finger crossed to get tickets. Thank you.

If you can’t or don’t want to use plane WiFi could you ask a friend at home to order online for you when they open?

Order your tickets through Klook.com. You’ll find Klook very helpful to order a lot of tickets in advance in Japan. Everything from Kabukiza, to TeamLab to Tokyo Skytree to Shinkansen tickets with relatively no mark up.

I will second the recommendation to use Klook. Quite a few Japanese web sites are not set up for purchases from outside of Japan or for using non-Japanese credit cards. Even some hotels surprisingly enough. (Or at least some of the small out of the way hotels I have used.)
I used Klook for my JR Shikoku Rail Pass this summer and the price was the same with two added advantages: I could activate the pass right before I went to use it so saving a trip to one of JR's travel centers; and it was refundable up until it was activated which allowed for some peace of mind (as a typhoon was heading to Shikoku the same time I was). In the event, it worked well and I would use Klook again.
