Jordan/Cyprus Combo - Feasible?

Hi!

As obviously stated above, I’m wondering if anyone has done the above combo of countries and if so, how? My brother and his soon to be wife get married in October and have about two weeks for a honeymoon. They are very experienced travelers but I’m the actually best trip planner in our family when it comes to day to day planning and logistics. So they asked me to help them plan their honeymoon out as my gift to them for their wedding.

They were hoping to go to Jordan for approx a week to see Petra and Wadi Rum and then perhaps fly into Cyprus for the next week to stay at one of the resorts/relax there. My big question is how feasible is and is it worth that hassle.

I have never been to Cyprus or Jordan, but have been to Israel and the West Bank. I have friends that have done Jordan and enjoyed it a lot.
I don't see why there would be a problem going to both Jordan and Cyprus.

Cyprus is popular for Arabs as well as Israelis. The Greek Cyprus is the place to go.

I would opt for Israel before Cyprus.

I was in Jordan 2 weeks ago, including Petra, which is worth a full day, no more. I've been to Wadi Rum on a tour a few years ago. For Wadi Rum you must have a guided tour, it's not feasible independently. Aqaba has beaches on the beautiful Gulf of Aqaba/Eilat, which would be a great place to chill for a couple of days. October is an excellent time to be there, the water is about at its warmest and the air temps are moderate. Then fly to Larnaca via Amman. I have a number of friends who have spent time enjoying Cyprus - easy enough on your own, especially with a rental car.

Eileat is a perfect honeymoon destination and it's easy to grab a tour to Petra, however, I would really urge them to spend a couple of nights near Petra-there is a Courtyard just outside the city. As far as Islands are concerned, check out Crete-good connections and a multitude of hotels with plenty of hiking
