I saw a documentary or read an article about an old woman or man painting murals in a small village in Japan. My google skills are not finding it.
Any ideas?

A technique I use is to translate the phrase into Japanese (Kanji) and search that way.
If you plug in 村の壁画 (which translates into village murals) you will get quite a few results. Don't know if this will get you want you want but it might help. It will bring up lots of Japanese mural info and pictures.

If you read in browser how about looking into your browser chronicle?
If you remember parts of the headline you can enter it into the browser's command line (not Google entry line).
