Japan Airlines offering free domestic flights to travelers

I just saw a article saying that Japan Airlines is offering free domestic flights to US and other foreign travelers if they purchase their international flight through Japan Airlines and book everything at the same time. It’s going on right now, I believe, and they’ve said that they plan to continue it indefinitely.

Sounds like it’s definitely something to check into! Details in the link below. https://www.businessinsider.com/japan-airlines-free-domestic-flights-us-international-how-to-book-2024-9 (NOTE: others have had issues with this link. Use the link below).

UPDATE: I posted this link below but putting it up here as well. This is a press release from Japan Airlines with details about the offer. https://press.jal.co.jp/en/release/202409/008322.html

That link is blocked unless you pay a fee.

That’s weird. I just found it on my Google feed. I don’t have a subscription to business insider. I’m sure you could find the information elsewhere, though.

You might try it again, though. I just went back to the link and it worked fine for me again. You do have to keep scrolling down past the large ad in there, so maybe you just didn’t go down far enough?

Try Googling "Japan free domestic flights" wo the quotes. Frequently sites let people through that "come" from Google.

As I understand the press release, for US/Canadian/Mexican travelers it's not entirely "free"... there's a $100 "stopover" fee. Still, could be worth it if the normal price of the domestic leg is over $100.

Bear in mind that if you book your international flights with the free domestic ones, you get 2 pieces of check-in bags for the latter. If you purchase the domestic flights independently, then you usually don't get this much luggage allowance, depending on the fare.
