Kumano Kodo trail. We are very interested in hiking this as part of a potential 4-6 week trip. Possibly April 2023. We are on the senior side of things so would be taking our time. Has anyone made this part of a Japan trip? We have used Rick books successfully for our 3 European trips so far.

I have not been to this part of Japan. However, it seems that this is quite a popular route for tourists. japan-guide.com is a very good website for information about everything Japanese. April is a good month to travel due to sakura, but do book your hotels soon. You should book rooms that are fully refundable and then cancel later if needed. I will be in Japan in March.
