Which tour companies do you recommend for private tours in Israel
I was very happy with a local Israeli specialty company called ISRAM a few years ago. Good luck 🍀
We had to cancel our Gate 1 Travel tour of Israel and Jordan due to Covid in 2020.
Gate 1. delivers great tours with lodging in 4 and 5 star hotels.
the only group tours I've done to Israel (we are usually independent travelers) were in the past couple of years, before the end of the war, and they were organized through Israel Maven Tours. the main contact for our groups was David Abraham, and he was terrific....mind you, I was not an organizer, just a participant, but David stopped by a couple of times to make sure everything was okay. also, I know he was flexible in accepting specfic requests from our tour leader.
it is also possible to reach out to licensed tour guides who can spend a few days with you and organize some great experiences. we did that several years ago for 3 days, based out of Rosh Pina. the TA Israel travel forum is pretty active, and there are some licensed guides who are area experts who give great information and answers to all sorts of questions.
happy planning!
It's definitely heartening that you are interested in visiting! Have you considered independent travel here? If you have traveled on your own in Europe, you can do it here. English is spoken everywhere, usually fluently. The trains and buses are easy to use. There are lots of private guides for day tours. About the only area that is difficult without a car is the eastern Galilee, with lots of Christian holy sites, other historical sites, and nature reserves. For that you could rent a car; driving outside the cities is not difficult, the roads are good, so's the signage. All cars are automatics. Or you could use a guide with a car.
Listen to Chani, she is one of the smartest travelers i have ever met. I did Israel solo some years ago (several discount flights from Budapest every week) and it was as easy as she says.
Enjoy it!
