Israel

hi,
Wondering if anyone has advice and reco. for tours through Israel. Looking to go late 2023 or 2024. For one I am looking at Abercrombie and Kent and wondering if anyone has experience with them (in any country). Thanks

sschickler, Use the Search function at the top of this page (on a computer) or in the menu on a phone. Put in Israel tours and you'll find a bunch of earlier threads with recommendations from people. Looks like lots of good choices.

Hi - take a look at OAT Travel's Israel tour. You can add on a Jordan pretrip to Amman and Petra. I am signed up for this trip in April, so can't give you more details. I have been on both OAT and RS tours and both have excellent guides.

OAT tours are 16 people or less and is more than just sightseeing as it includes a lot interaction with local people (ie discussing controversial topics, home cooked meals, spending a day in a small village with local farmers, village chiefs, and school kids etc). They have very detailed hour by hour itineraries on their website to look at. Also note that with OAT, there is an additional expense of tipping the tour guide approx $10/day at the end of the trip. And finally, if you travel solo and book early enough, you can grab one of the few solo spots and have your own room without having to pay a single supplement.

We are planning to do Israel and Jordan on a Gate 1 tour, since we had to cancel it earlier since Israel was not open due to COVID.
