Two of my friends who were negligent with mask wearing tested negative for their flight last Saturday. My test is this Friday. I’ve moved to our second hotel which is small, full, but with a lot of spaced areas. The Mexican workers are still almost 100% compliant wearing masks all day inside and out.

A Covid update from the local government reports only 27 cases reported last week among the population here in the Cancun area per a million plus residents. I wonder how many undocumented cases there are or if they count foreign tests?
Young adults are numerous in the nightclubs and are mask less, of course. But, Covid testing huts are numerous outside of the clubs. The only other thing noted is the area is now “ green”. I hear very little coughing or observe anyone exhibiting URI symptoms. Usually many staff are sick with colds this time of year brought in by the tourists but not so this year.
Agnes’s, ask the transit driver to take you to the less crowded car rental office. Hardly any tourists there. Our driver said the other pickup office is severely crowded. I wish I had had this info when I arrived last week.
Edited. I’m not sure what beach we are on as we couldn’t find the one we wanted to visit. The Police are using ATVs to patrol the sand.
