Immersive Van Gogh Exhibition in Chicago through September

It is pretty miserable weather nowadays but come check out the "U.S. premiere of the Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit from the creators of the blockbuster exhibit seen by over 2 million visitors in Paris."

Thanks for the heads up about this event. I may get to visit my sister in Illinois this year and I know she’d like to see this production. We were able to see it in Paris in 2019 and it would be a wonderful experience in any appropriate venue. I highly recommending attending if people are visiting Chicago in the next few months. Hopefully it won’t be as crowded as the pre-Covid exhibit in Paris we attended though.

They managed to make it so visitors that linger can stand socially distanced on their own circle in the exhibition area

I just got my tickets for this for June. I used airline points to fly from Springfield to Chicago. A 3-day mini trip is now on the calendar. The Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam was one of my favorites and I can't wait to see this.

We have this on in Toronto. It is being housed on the old printing press floor of the Toronto Star. They have split the area and part of it was a drive in experience. That allowed many to go during part of the lock down. I went in May it was amazing. I did the regular walk in experience. It was amazing. The space was huge and crowds were controlled. It was sold out for most of its run and is restarting we get move to a less restrictive lock down. It was amazing very powerful. You could stay longer than the 30 min time frame. I cant wait to go see another one. Well worth the money. I almost drove to Montreal to see it before they announced that it was coming to Toronto.

Alaska airlines has started a new, non-stop flight from Anchorage ( my home airport) and Chicago. So, we have booked a hotel, but not flights yet for the end of June. This post could not be more timely! Thanks, we will definitely check this out.
Also, we are foodies so if you have any good restaurants to recommend, food will be one of our primary focus.

It's coming to D.C. in July. I have tickets for September 2nd.

We did the RS Best of Eastern France tour in 2019 and the day the tour ended in Aix en Provence, we did a day trip with the tourist office that included Les Beaux de Provence. The Van Gogh exhibit was being shown in some caves there, but we didn't have time to see it because of the schedule, so I've been left wanting to see it since then.

We just booked a long weekend in Chicago and there was one time slot left ( for Van Gogh exhibit) for Monday, June 28th! So I bought us 2 tickets! So excited! If any forum friends will be in Chicago this weekend, we would love a meet up!
Our dates are June 25 through June 28!

Tammy, I don't have tickets yet (still waiting to see how the virus behaves in the next few weeks) but there's a very very good chance that I'll be in Chicago then!

Hi Chani, that would be awesome if you were there that weekend. We have 4 full days, so could meet up for whatever! I know that restaurants and such are opening up as I am wanting to make some advance dining reservations. We are fully vaccinated as I assume you are as well? Israel has done so well with that.

There are actually TWO coming to Boston (and apparently even more other places).

The Immersive Experience, September through January, secret location, has animations and uses VR goggles for parts, vangoghexpo.com

Imagine Van Gogh, Dec through February, SoWa Power station, the "original" one that started in France, imagine-vangogh.com

Trying to decide which one, leaning towards "Imagine" but the "Immersive Experience" seems more popular. Both more than half sold out already.

Anyone been to either and can report?

It's currently in Vancouver, BC. A friend of mine posted some pictures and video clips on her FB site - they are amazing! Music and beautiful pictures of Van Gogh's art shown against tall screens around the room and a centered cube. You wander around the display and let the art and music flow around you. I wish I was able to travel down there and attend, but alas, I can't.
