If you are considering a DYI safari

From time to time there have been postings suggesting that one save expense on a safari experience by just getting a general admission ticket to a game reserve and drive in by oneself.

If you missed this on your local TV news this morning, this might help you decided that the more organized safaris with experienced guides/trackers just might be worth it:

Imagine explaining that one to your car rental agency. At least the young couple escaped without injury.....not so lucky for the car!!!

Three lessons here:

. Always put car rental insurance on your AmExp card -- which specifically includes horny elephant damage in subSahara Africa.

. Do no rent second-rate cars -- always get one with both a gas pedal and a reverse gear.

. If you're offended by leg-humping dogs -- do NOT get out of the car.

Lesson four:
Pack an elephant gun in your carry-on bag :)

Edit: oooops.....that would not get by screening!!!!!
