How to get to Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Nairobi Elephant Nursery in Nairobi National Park.

Hello!      My sister, brother-in-law and I are going to visit Kenya and Tanzania in July/August 2025.    We are extending our trip by one day so we can visit the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Nairobi Elephant Nursery in the Nairobi National Park.    I know we need to secure tickets at least 90 days prior to the visit date.     What secure/reasonable transportation is available to take us round trip?     What legitimate/secure/reasonable tours are available to take us?     Please list names and contact information.       Thank you!    BW jaz

Unless I'm misremembering, Sheldrick is not inside of the National Park. We worked with our safari tour operator (Gamewatchers) for our day in Nairobi and they brought us to Sheldrick, the Giraffe Center and a couple of other places. I would maybe check with whoever you're using for your safari to see if they have suggestions or can help.

Ty Rachel. According to the sheldrick trust website we need to apply for visit passes from sheldrick at least 90 days and obtain passes to the Nairobi national park prior to the visit. I am looking for names/contact information for safe/reliable/reasonable drivers and tour companies who would be able to take us bw jaz

I see that it looks like they've added that requirement for the park fees since I was there in 2022, that's too bad! What company are you working with for your safari?

We will be going with Odysseys. They would not provide us with names and deferred to local travel agents. The hotel will provide drivers. We would like more names/recommendations of drivers and tour companies. Ty. Bw. Jaz

We used Good Earth Tours for our wonderful safari in Kenya and Tanzania two years ago. Perhaps they could assist you.

Our safari was great and not terribly expensive.

Yes, they added the park fee last year just before I went. It made the trip to Sheldricks very expensive as you are essentially paying to just go up the road. It would be more economical to try and get a game drive in the park also since you have to pay the fee anyway.
