I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to get to Taupo from Rotorus between 6-830 pm - All the Intercity buses are in the early am 9am or late night 10pm but nothing in the early evening. Renting a car isnt possible. Any other suggestion?

If you cannot adjust your schedule to fit the bus runs and renting a car is not an option, it seems a taxi ( probably $$$) is the remaining choice.
What about a one way car rental? Some companies do that.

Hitch hike? Its only about a half hour drive.
