We are flying to Amsterdam on 3 August then flying to Nairobi on 5 August.
In processing for a QR code, how close to our travel do we have to be to create the code?

From talking with others, it appears that going to Kenya we need to do three things:
1) acquire QR code (can do that several days or weeks before travel)
2) complete Kenyan Government Travel form that asks health questions, etc. (that should be done closer to travel, perhaps a few days before.
3) upload vaccination or COVID19 test results (if not fully vaccinated)-that can be done early as well.

Do you also need a yellow fever certificate for entering Kenya? I know this was the case about 5-6 years ago when we were there - not sure if this is still needed.

We have the yellow fever.
Our trip from the USA goes through Netherlands (we spend one night before traveling to Africa and seven nights after). We have to fill out a Netherlands form both times we enter that country as well as the stuff for Africa. At least we don't have to get COVID19 tested.
