Lots of hotels in that range. Lot of good hotels at half that price. Use hoteltonight.com Second where do you want to stay in Chicago? Or what are you doing in Chicago? We like St. Jane Hotel for its location on Michigan Ave on the edge of the Loop and at the foot of the Magnificent mile.
$350/night? That will get you some nice rooms. Once you clarify your budget and what you're looking to do, I can recommend some places for you as I'm from Chicago suburbs and lived here over 30 yrs!
It would really help to know more information. Where in Chicago are you looking to stay. Do you want something with historic character? Are you in town for fun or business? Will you be driving or arriving via transit.
TripAdvisor is my go-to resource although their budget numbers can be way off. If you narrow down some options maybe some of us can help.
We need a little more information from the OP.
Dates, budget, location ( do you want to stay close to airport or in town, off Michigan Ave or River North).
This week end and in the center of town please
All the hotels along Chicago Riverwalk will be awesome location. Beautiful views, so many restaurants, walk to everywhere!
Google map
Sorry...it got cut off:
Google map Hyatt Regency Lower Wacker, or Swiss hotel and see how close it is to all the major attractions in Chicago downtown. I was just there last weekend and sat along the Riverwalk...very beautiful and convenient area!
....center of town please...... There is no real center as Chicago is stretched out along the lake and push back to the river. At least two centers -- the Loop defined somewhat by the elevated train tracks between the Lake and south of the river and east of the river as it bends to the south. The theater district is there as well as the financial district. I don't like that part of Chicago as well as the area north of the river.
The other center would be north of the river and especially along Michigan Ave and several blocks deep to the west. A number of the better restaurants are located in this area along with lots of shopping. Personally I would focus on that area.
Stay at the Park Hyatt. It's showing less than $300 this weekend. You won't regret it.
Hotel Lincoln ( https://www.jdvhotels.com/hotels/illinois/chicago/hotel-lincoln) - a bit to the north in the Old Town neighborhood and close to the Lakefront Trail and Lincoln Park/ Zoo. Very nice neighborhood. It's a 5 minute walk to see a Second City comedy show from there, which is worth checking out (also a small neighborhood farmers market called Green City Market). Chicago has good transit service (nearest stop is Sedgwick). Or it's a 2.5 mile or so walk down to Millennium Park. I traveled to Chicago most recently on my own and had no problems at all - it didn't stop me from doing anything, including going out at night to listen to live music, seeing a comedy show, etc.
I assume your budget is in CAD, correct? That's about $264 USD, which is still very generous.
In your other posting you indicate your husband is on a business trip and you are by yourself during the day. When is his business meeting or office or focus of his activity? I still come back to the St Jane hotel location probably a good location for you by yourself. Or any of the hotels on Michigan ave on either side of the Chicago river as a good central location. While I like Old Town it is too far north for your purposes.
We stayed at The Drake, a Hilton Hotel, on E. Walton last time we were there. We liked its location and were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go.
