Hotel near JFK for morning flight to Heathrow

In the past we have stayed near the airport for the early morning flight and were able to park free while we were away. Anyone done that recently and actually liked the hotel?

TWA is really the only reasonable option. They have had “park & fly” rates. But you could use any of the JFK parking and connect via AirTrain.

Most of the other hotels are JFK are… not nice.

When is your trip? If after October, there will be two new Airport hotels--a full service Marriott and a Residence Inn. (They are next to each other near the Hilton.)

I've stayed at many of the JFK hotels. Lately, I've stayed at the Courtyard. It's not great but better than the others. Not sure about parking as I fly in and out.

We have a tour of Egypt with a flight (provided by the tour company) from JFK direct to Cairo on 3 Jan 2023.
I researched hotels near JFK, since I thought it prudent to fly in to JFK the day before. I have had nothing but trouble any time that i have passed through JFK. I don't want to miss my flight to Cairo.

I liked the TWA Hotel, since it is in the old TWA terminal that I remember passing through many years ago when TWA was still an airline. The other hotels that I found near the airport didn't look that inviting.

I would love to fly into JFK the same day as our afternoon flight to Cairo, but don't want to take that chance. What does anyone thing about that choice?

geovagriffith- if you’re flying in a day before you might consider going into the city for the night. At least have options for strolling and having a decent meal. Maybe even a show? And you could fly into any of the three airports, rather than limit yourself to JFK.

And of you stay nearish Penn station or Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn, you’d have the easiest access to the airtrain via Long Island Railroad

I don’t know their parking policy as we flew into JFK. We loved our stay at the TWA Hotel at JFK. It’s history is displayed and it has a fun vibe. The restaurant is a Jean-Georges property without the normal inflated prices. We flew to London the next morning, so easy.
It will be where we stay at JFK from now on.

Scudder,
Thanks for the tips, but we have been to NYC before and don't wish to go into the city.
We are thinking of arriving in the late afternoon and early evening the day prior to our flight to Egypt.
