Happy 150th Birthday, Colorado!

Tomorrow, August 1, 2026 is the 150th Anniversary of Colorado’s statehood. Known as the Centennial State, Colorado became a state the same year the U.S.A. turned one hundred. With the U.S.A. now turning 250 this year, Colorado is observing our sesquicentennial.

Come visit - We’re Ski Country USA in the winter and spring, but fabulous in summer and fall, too. Plains in the east, mountains down the middle, and mesas in the very west.

or as King Charles would say, just the other day.

I saw your note in the other post, I took it as an invitation.......

I can walk to pubs older than that. And the second version of Crewe railway station is 29 years older.

But congratulations, carry on, these things take time....

I've actually been to both Manitiou Springs and Durango as part of a specialist organised rail tour, where we were using a half full motor coach (RS style) to fill in the gaps, probably also RS style in the choice of our hotels!

isn31c, we've stopped briefly in Durango twice en route to Mesa Verde but haven't yet given it quality time so that will be a new experience. We've also been very close to Manitou Springs, when going thru Garden of The Gods some years ago, but it will be the first time to hang a hat. Looking forward to both!
