Hanoi food tour and water puppets

Just book your water puppet tickets the day of or day before. No need to use a third party, you can literally go there in the late morning, walk right up and buy your tickets for that day. Do it as part of a morning walk around the lake (great people watching) followed by breakfast..

We used AirBnB experiences to choose a tour. I think whomever you choose, you'll have a great adventure.

I advise staying near Ha Kiem Lake. It's a great central location with awesome walking sights and your food tour will likely depart nearby. There are a number of very good hotels but we "splurged" at the Hanoi Pearl.

I did the Hanoi Kids food tour when they offered it during the day, but I wouldn't hesitate to book one in the evening. There are lots of people out and about in the dinner hour and it really was a lovely experience interacting with a young person and learning about their life. I still dream about this noodle dish we ate - so yummy. Sorry I don't recall where I watched the water puppet show (I was with a tour group) but hopefully someone recommends a good one, I wasn't terribly impressed with the one I saw (perhaps something lost in translation).
