Anyone have any recommendations for visiting the island of Grenada? We're headed there in November for a week.
Are you staying in a hotel, resort or B&B? There are a few informative YouTube videos about Grenada, as well as tourism sites on Google. We're planning on hiring a taxi/ guide for a day to take us to Belmont Estate, Grand Etang Lake, Annandale Falls, and around St George's. Oh, and the spice market. Like St Lucia, this is an island where we do not want to rent a car. ( narrow twisty roads and beaucoup hills)
We visited that island while on a cruise. It was interesting, but wouldn't want to stay for a week.
Thanks for the feedback. We're staying at a resort in the St. George's area on the beach and plan to mostly relax. One day we may rent a car to explore some of the island.
Grenada is a great place to spend a week. We spent about four nights in St. George and four nights in the north at Petit Anse. The Belmont estate was a highlight and the nearby River Antoine Rum Distillery was also interesting. There are several forts around St. George's that we enjoyed visiting. Grand Etang National Park was the nature highlight (other than the leather back turtles nesting in the north, but you are going in the wrong season for that). In St. George's, eat at Patrick's if it is still open. Wonderful local food cooked and served by a welcoming family.
