We just did a great 14 day tour of Egypt with Gate 1. COST pp was about $3500 (best deal I could find).
Our guide was exceptional, one of our best every. Hotels were 5 star and we did two 3 day cruises with one including Abu Simbel.

Glad you had a good trip. More detail would be nice. Hotels you stayed at, how many in your group etc? We loved our private tour of Egypt with Go Luxor, but I hear good things about Gate 1 too.

We have also had very positive experiences with Gate 1. We have taken 5 tours with them. Great value, guides, and hotels. Would have used them for our trip to Egypt, but their tour dates didn't align with the breaks my school schedule (I'm a teacher). We used Egypt and Beyond, the company Tarek owns and who Rick had in his Egypt episodes. Excellent tour through Egypt & Beyond but definitely WAY more expensive than Gate 1 would have been!

We've taken two tours with Gate 1-Lisbon/Spain and Albania, Montenegro, Croatia and Slovenia. You really get a lot for your money and most of the sights you would want to see are included.

I suggest that you pick one that includes a river cruise on the Nile, the Cairo area and Abu Simbel.
