Any more information about the date for its opening? Travel to Egypt is on my bucket list, but I have only one shot. I want to do it all in one trip. Thank you.

I do hope it is open when we are on our Gate 1 Egypt tour in January 2023. If not, I hope the old Egyptian Museum in Cairo will still be open.

They’ve been promising an opening for a very long time and have already moved some artifacts there. If it ever opens and I am still alive and kicking, I will go back. It looks fabulous.

I'm scheduled for an Egypt trip in late March 2023, and the tour company (Archeological Paths) said recently that no one knows when the GEM is going to open. It was recently listed as November 2022, which of course is the centennial of Howard Carter's discover of King Tut's tomb, but now the website just says "2023." The Egyptian Museum will still be open regardless, but I don't know how much has already been transferred to GEM in anticipation of the opening.
