In addition, due to the Transcanyon Waterline being knocked out by the flood, they're closing all the hotels on the South Rim today until further notice. Campgrounds are open for dry camping only, and no campfires are allowed.

As in the link Valerie provided above, 15 or so hikers in the inner canyon are reported to still be missing. :O(

What with the Dragon Bravo Fire burning a good share of the North Rim structures last summer and now this, our grandest canyon has had a really tough couple of years. The water situation is of paramount concern for the many who live and work at the park, and won't be a quick or easy fix.

Still can't get my head around the loss of the North Rim Lodge. There wasn't a better spot for a post-hike beer than a bench on that terrace at sunset.
