Go to Egypt 2019

My wife and I just returned from a 10 day trip to Egypt and due to the advice I received on this forum I was able to plan a fantastic trip . So anyone thinking of going to Egypt ,here's a few tips and updates that may be helpful to others. Egypt is very safe and the people of Egypt will go out of their way to make your visit awesome . We stayed for 2 nights at the Steigenberger Hotel in Luxor
and the reviews were correct, rooms ,service , location and breakfast were first class .(highly recommend) We boarded the M.S Farah for a 5 day 4 night cruise and the reviews from this forum were correct excellent cruise , room and service. Our favorite was the tour guide that the ship provided us a personal guide and private car, Muhammed Zaki ( www.seetherealegypt.com).He was without a doubt the best guide of our entire trip , anyone planning a trip hire this guy ,he's the best .In Cairo we stayed at the Sheraton Hotel and Casino ( highly recommend) large rooms ,great value, super breakfast ) ask for Muhammed Pipo at the restaurant concierge
desk and he will make certain you have great restaurant service .We also hired a private driver that we used for a few days to
visit anywhere in the city and the Saqqara pyramids . It was a great way to go wherever, whenever without the hassle of trying to find a cab .Amr Soltan (01229054445) ask the doorman at the Sheraton or call him.
For a trip to Luxor , Dendara and Abydos hire Muhammed Zaki (01002496991)
Thanks to this forum I was able to plan this trip without a tour group of 15 or 20 other travelers that we had to wait on
and I believe we saw more and had a lot more freedom with individual service .We flew to Luxor from Rome then traveled
to Abydos and Dendara by private van and tour guide before boarding our Nile cruise.

Woodyo, thank you! We've just started organizing a trip to Egypt for mid-December. What kind of weather did you have? (the inevitable what-to-pack questions, especially 'cause we'll be stopping in wintry Germany en route). Itinerary is Cairo, up&down the Nile, & Alexandria.

Thanks for your trip report. We were in Egypt and Jordan this past March for nearly a month and loved it. We will be going back when the new Grand Egyptian museum opens hopefully next year.

We were in Rome the week prior and
It was much cooler so we packed very light one small bag each
packable down jacket is best
