Global entry face to face Chicago Ohare

My wife and I applied for Global Entry 2 months ago. We hoped to do face to face in Denver before our flight to Paris in October. Well that didn’t happen due to no appointments. So apparently when we return from Paris, at Ohare, I understand we can do a face to face upon arrival. We have a 5 hour layover so I was hoping to do that, killing 2 birds with one stone. We get in a 2 p.m. and depart at 7 p.m. Is that a realistic possibility? Or is the line way too long? Thanks all.
P.S. I didn’t see a US area to post. Sorry

You won’t know until you get there. We did an interview upon entry when we flew back to the US a couple of years ago. We requested the face to face interview when we were exiting immigration and the agent directed us to another booth behind the big intake area. This was in Detroit so you should look at a map of ORD to see where their Global Office is situated and what the hours are. There was only one person in front of us and each interview and fingerprinting took about 10-15 minutes. Oh, I should mention…my picture taken that day after a 9h flight wasn’t my best hair look 🙄 so do your best.

I mentioned looking at the Global Entry location and opening times at ORD because I checked our usual international point of entry, SFO and while I saw that their location is easy to get to and signed, their hours are only M-F.

EDIT: Some people have had luck with appointment cancelations so you might try checking daily for cancellations at DEN between now and your October flight.

My traveling friend just did her interview upon reentry at JFK last Friday. It took less than five minutes. She was asked only one question. The required documents that she brought with her were not even mentioned. At passport control ask your processing officer where to go for the GE interview upon reentry. It’s usually just a few steps away and generally before checked baggage pickup. It is not the same as the standard processing office for individuals with scheduled interviews which is located on the non secure side of the terminal.

I went through immigration at OHare yesterday, and it was pretty chaotic—the area is under renovation, and it seems like they'll be rearranging temporary walls and traffic flows for a while.

That said, there's no harm in asking while you go through, right? You certainly have the time to spare with that layover. (Mine was 4.5 hours yesterday.)

Hello, I just sis this at Ohare on Saturday. As mentioned above, immigration was messy. Online had mentioned using a specific booth to have the interview. As I progressed through the immigration line I asked every employee I encounter where I would do the interview, they all said it would be done at the booth (no specific booth stated). When I finally made it up to the immigration officer they told me that it would be after I collect my baggage and left the security area. Sure enough, the interview was conducted after leaving, there is a sign near a McDonald’s for the enrollment center. you first get in a line for check in (they asked for my boarding pass to prove I had just traveled), then you are put in a holding room with others and you are called when it is your turn for interview. I think the process from first getting in line to completion took about 50 min.

I just did my Global Entry on arrival at O'Hare the end of September. From my experience, your layover should give you plenty of time to accomplish that. I asked someone at immigration and was directed where to go. I checked in and there were perhaps six people/couples ahead of me. I'm sure my wait was under 30 minutes (this was around 6 pm). After my name was called, it was quick and easy.

The website indicates that the process is available from noon to 8 pm daily at O'Hare (Booth 58 if returning from foreign). I can't swear it was Booth 58 or how I would have found that if I hadn't asked in the baggage claim area or wherever it was I thought to ask. (I was told, "Exit over there, turn right and you'll see signs.")

Good luck!
