Giza Pyramids and old Cairo

Hi,
Will be in Cairo on a Friday. Has arranged a private car with driver to pick me up at 6 am, take me around, and to bring me back to the airport at 4 pm to catch a 7 pm flight. I don’t plan to break for lunch - see some sights and head back to the airport.
In addition to the pyramids of Giza, what are some of the other sites that I visit within the time I have. I would like to visit the sites for quickly seeing them and taking some photos. Any suggestions for what can be visited within the time I have.
Thanks,
Thomas

Thomas,
fyi, traffic is pretty bad in Cairo. Be prepared for some slowdowns on the streets. I commend you for getting an early start. I don't remember the layout of Cairo, but my second choice of where to visit (after the big museum...a real treat) is the old Coptic quarter, fascinating as well. If you opt for the GEM or the old museum, give yourself at least two -three hours. It isn't worth rushing through.

You should not miss the new Egyptian Museum in Giza, I think they have probably moved from the old Egyptian Museum near the Nile Hilton. That should take you several hours to go through.

Yes, you probably want to visit the historic Christian region of Cairo were the Holy Family stayed while in Egypt.

North of Cairo and Giza there is the Step Pyramid (oldest pyramid).

The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) is a few kilometers from the Giza Pyramids and is definitely worth a few hours. We were there a few weekends ago and it's about 80% open.
