Georgia On My Mind

It's certainly a geopolitical debate as to whether the Republic of Georgia is part of Europe or Asia, but the notion about whether to visit should not be debatable: Georgia offers it all in a way not offered by many. Having lived in Georgia for three years, I say this with knowledge and conviction. Truly at a crossroads, the country has developed a unique language and culture that embrace hospitality, adventure, and tradition. As if that weren't enough, the landscape is sublime, the food is out of this world, and the traditional dance (with swords) is enough to get even the most reluctant spectator in awe.

I know that most people aren't likely to immediately select Georgia as their next travel destination, but I was happy to see this article echoing my sentiments:

In other words, I write to say, "please think about it."

I was on a guided tour, a week in Georgia and a week in Armenia. Fascinating, great food, friendly people, beautiful scenery. Enjoyed it all, but I can't imagine trying to do it solo.
