First Trip to Cabo San Lucas

Just booked our flight for a long weekend (4 nights) to the Cabo area for mid-March. Any recommendations for hotels? What about driving in the area? Other things we should be aware of? Any suggestions will be great - Thanks!

We didn't stay in Cabo, but our cruise ship stopped there and we had a full day to explore. It was great. We did a tour that included a boat ride. The tour did cover some of the tourist sites and hotels.

You have two choices in general, stay close to the town or a bit away from the town. We visited a very nice hotel that had a golf course nearby with great private beach, it was awesome. I don't remember the name, it was either a Hilton or Marriott (big name hotel) and was east of the city.

It's been more than 10 years since I've been there but we stayed at the Hilton in between the two towns-Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo..

We rented a car and had no fear of driving; the experience getting to the car was a bit of a white-knuckler though. I can't remember who we rented from but it was one of the major chains, but to get from the rental desk at the airport to the car we sat in the back of a pick-up truck and drove either through a field or an incredibly bumpy road ( it was dark and we couldn't see well). Once we got to the car we went through the standard inspection where I was supposed to note any existing damage to the car. there were so many dents and nicks I ended up circling the entire car on the form. No problems to return though.

If you have time, take a drive north to Todos Santos.https://todossantos.cc/ It's a small, pretty town. There is a hotel there called Hotel California that is rumored to be where the Eagles got the idea for the name of their song. I suspect though that it's a convenient rumor that the hotel started. Had a great lunch at the hotel. We ordered a pizza with pears and gorgonzola. Sounds weird but it was fantastic.

We stayed at Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos Blanco beach resort. We loved it. Every room has a balcony and view of the sea. Nice pool, good restaurants and great staff. We also liked being able to walk easily into town. We would definitely stay there again.
