We’ll be in Evanston for 4 days for a wedding. Any recommendations for restaurants, cafes or places to eat? Thanks.

Becky -- what kind of food are you looking for? Chicago and the North Shore have great food options. There is a foodie website called LTH Forum. You can browse, post your question there (Evanston counts as eating out in Chicago), or read the sticky post and do a search.

IMO, the Bahai Temple is a must-see near where you'll be. There are some unbelievably beautiful homes along Sheridan Road. The Halim Time & Glass Museum is a quirky place to spend a couple of hours. Illinois' Holocaust Museum is nearby as well.

If you don't want to go into the city, the towns along the north shore - Ravina, Winnetka, Highwood, Highland Park, Lake Forest - are nice areas to visit. Some of them have small town centers with lots of cafe's and restaurants worth checking out. Its a wealthy part of the metro area so you can find just about anything there.

Thank you for your suggestions. There are lots of evening events for the wedding party throughout our stay. Mainly looking for favorite spots for breakfast, lunch or coffee in Evanston. We like all ethnic foods and don’t mind funky places. We are staying at the Hilton Orrington and there are two events planned at the Farmhouse restaurant, Sam mentioned above.
