ETBD-like tours in Austraia/NZ/Tazmania?

I've been on several ETBD tours, and absolutely loved the focus on great experiences, people, nature and history, with some good 'on your own' time. I know they don't 'do' tours in Australia/NZ/Taz, but was curious if anyone knows of tour companies in those countries that they would recommend.

I just saw the post by Susan and a few others, so will check that out as well, for NZ :-).
Still, if folks have any tour suggestions for 50+ travelers, I'd love to hear experiences/recommendations.

I have heard good things regarding About Australia, a tour company out of Chicago, I believe. We are researching a 21-day trip to Australia and maybe a bit of New Zealand, too, and they are our go-to planner.

Have you looked into Road Scholar (formerly Elderhostel)? They have a similar philosophy of education/experiences over shopping, etc.
