Just wanted to put this out there because I had a hard time finding a tour company for our Egypt trip. I came across an old post on here that mentioned Go Luxor Tours. I googled the company went to their website, goluxortours.com and emailed them and left my WhatsApp number. Then found them on other travel sites to read reviews. This was the fourth company I contacted. After talking with Mike and getting pricing we decided to go with this company. Best decision ever! Highly recommend. We did a private 7day tour. I pre booked flights and hotels, and Mike took care of everything else. By far the least stressful trip we’ve taken. Great communication and clear pricing and trip details. He is also the only person to tell me Nefertiti’s tomb was closed. Other company’s quoted me prices with that included.
I just looked at what Go Luxor Tours offers on the internet.
It appears that they offer lots of day trip and cruise on the Nile that most are 3 days.
Their reviews are excellent.
However, you stated that you did a private 7 day tour. What did it cost?
Going to Egypt, I recommend one tour that includes a Nile cruise as well as Abu Simple, the Gaza Pyramids, Egyptian Museum, the Christian area of Cairo, Step Pyramid, etc. We did a great tour with Gate 1 Travel about two years ago. Total cost was about $3500 per person that include airfare from NYC JFK Airport. We stayed in five star hotels and had university educated guides.
It included all transport, admission, most meals, etc.
Before you pick a tour of Egypt be sure and compare with others. Our tour was a little over half what Viking offered.
Glad to hear that you had a good experience with Go Luxor Tours. Egypt is one of the few countries where a private tour is affordable, and there are quite a number of good private operators in Egypt. We had a good experience with Djed, and I have also heard good things about Egypt and Beyond.
@geovagriffith I did research and compare 3 other companies. When I contacted Go Luxor I asked if they did private tours that is how I got mine planned out. I told Mike what I wanted to see, gave him my flights and hotels that I had already booked and he organized the rest. The tour included a full day at the pyramids, a full day in Cairo, lunch these days while out, East bank and west bank in Luxor, the Nile cruise with the ship I wanted, Edufu, Kim Umbu, Abu Simbel, Aswan tours, entry tickets to the sites, private driver, Egyptologist guides, all airport transfers and a stress free trip. lol. We are not fans of group tours. I like to do things at my own pace so this worked perfect for us. I enjoyed being able to spend as much time as I wanted exploring the sites and stopping when we wanted to enjoy a local cafe or restaurant. What sold me in the beginning was the fact that when I requested Nefertiti’s tomb he informed me it was closed. The other tour companies added it to my itinerary and cost.
By the way, I was very glad I got to go inside the Nefertari tomb when I was there in 2020. It was crazy expensive -- around $110 at the time -- but mind blowing. Now that it is closed indefinitely, maybe permanently, I am doubly glad that I added it to our itinerary. Visiting places like the Nefertari tomb is one of the advantages of a private tour.
