Egypt? Best Month?

In past had asked about Egypt and printed out all the terrific comments - thank you!

I think ideally would like a small cruise tour - but I will review.. as to the month best to visit
cooler and less crowds is mid Sept? Or best late October or November??
Your thoughts
thank you

I think Egypt still pretty hot in September. It was warm but comfortable for us in mid to late October, as was early March. In October the temps didn't get above the low to mid 90's, even at Abu Simbel. It does get cool in the evenings.

I usually hate crowds, but I would pick crowds over heat. (Crowds were not bad for us on either trip.)

I have been to Egypt three times, in July, December and January.

My last visit was in January 2023. My wife had never been to Egypt and I was a bit surprised that the weather was cooler than I found it in December 1985. It actually snowed in northern Egypt while we were there.

Daytime temps ran largely in the 70s perhaps up to low 80s, but nighttime dipped in the 50s. Some of our five star hotels didn't have heat. Thankfully, I brought my leather jacket, but wished I had brought a sweater.

When I was there in 1985, temps were as high as the 90s and it was never chilly.

Definitely don't go in the Summer.

We went during prime tourist season and the country is loaded with tourist, but our tour guide was great and we managed quite well. Our Gate 1 tour was well organized and frequently we took an early start in the morning to get ahead of the crowds. The most crowded places we visited were in Cairo, where the traffic is terrible. Even the pyramids at Giza was not a problem, despite all the tourists.

We went over Christmas in 2021. Days were high 60s to low 70s and nights were mid to high 40s and low 50s. I remember it being 45 degrees the morning I got up (very early) for the hot air balloon flight. We're from MN, so we are used to much colder weather. The weather at that time of year was perfect for us--I don't do well in the heat!
