We will be spending three days in Dubai in November.
We would like to do the boat trip to visit old town.
I am wondering if we need a guide? Any recommendations for a specific guide or company ?
We are staying in the Marina area.

Can't help with the boat trip, but we did a wonderful tour that included all seven of the Emirates of the UAE. I understand that now tours only offer six of the seven from Dubai.

I am sure you could find a lot of options on Get your Guide. I have not done what you mention (and am not sure what it is) but I have taken this tour twice: https://heritageexpress.com/. Then I rode the very cheap abra across the creek to the spice souk.
Careem is also the Dubai equivalent of Uber-taxis and I have never had a bad driver. You can go anywhere at any time and it’s very reasonable.

We had only one day in Dubai as a layover and we did a tour with Wander with Nada. Nada was smart, very professional, very knowledgeable, had a wonderful driver and worked out a day itinerary that was just what we wanted. Spending a day with Nada was so enjoyable. We can highly recommend her

We visited Dubai and Abu Dhabi in 2015 on a stopover to the Maldives. We enjoyed staying in the Marina area (at the Address). The short tours we booked through Emirates Air were really fun. We were surprised that one of our guides was so forthcoming when we asked his impressions about sensitive topics. Have a great time!
