Just about to get to Dawson Creek to give you our location, we will be going by a few Tim Horton’s. Give me some recommendations of what’s good, what is a typical Tim Horton order? I feel like we need to stop at at least one of them. Decent cinnamon rolls maybe? Thanks in advance to our Canadian contributors 💕
Sour cream glazed!
My go-to is an Ice Capp with a vanilla shot and box of assorted TimBits. If it's breakfast, a sausage breakfast sandwich on a biscuit.
My weakness is their double chocolate brownie, or glazed sour cream donut. Their subway sandwiches are decent, as are their bacon and egg breakfast sandwiches. Can you tell their is a Timmie’s too close to me🤭
Since it's lunch time now, I'll have a BLT, maple glazed doughnut, and a medium double double. Thanks.
OK, just stopped in Ft St. John and I had a sour cream glazed and my chocolate loving husband had the double chocolate brownie. Pretty good, especially the brownie! I figured out Tim bits were donut holes, maybe next time. Friendly service but no surprise because so far everyone, including the border guard, in Canada has been very nice.
Could make this a habit in the remaining larger towns we’ll be coming through. A sugar rush might help break up the many hours left until AK.
For lunch I like the Supreme Stack.
For treats, I like chocolate dip donuts, chocolate chip muffins, or chocolate chunk cookies. DH is fond of honey glazed donuts.
Their English Breakfast tea is nice.
Tim bits, crullers, sour cream. Their breakfast sandwiches are decent. I realize it's an institution, but it's just a chain donut shop
Probably fun to try once for the novelty (people often like to try a box of timbits for the road), but I find the donuts are often stale. They used to be fresh, but became more corporate and went downhill.
Your daily trivia: The first Tim Horton’s was in Hamilton, ON, it opened in 1964.
We lived not far from it, what a treat it was when my father brought us a box of donuts.
I agree with Tinka, that the donuts are not as good as they used to be. And it’s not just nostalgia talking. They used to be made fresh at each store, but now they are brought in (frozen) from a central location.
I love their apple fritters !!
Your choice is only worth it if they are fresh. If it's late in the day, and the location is not busy they are likely to be stale.
The fresh apple fritters are good though I find they have too much glaze on them that makes them overly sweet- just my preference to not be so sweet.
Not many locations have the cinnamon rolls these days - they used to have two options- iced or glazed. Take note they are not yeast dough cinnamon buns, if you happen upon them.
Just passing Destruction Bay and suddenly have a little window of cell service. Goodness, it is gorgeous here in the Yukon. Only 46 at 8:15 this morning mind you but beautiful.
Whitehorse Tim Hortons was not convenient to stopping anywhere pulling our trailer so I think I’ve run out of TH opportunities until our return trip in early August. Still didn’t get an apple fritter ☹️.
