Downtown Toronto Ontario accommodation

Looking for any recommendations for reasonably priced hotels or BnB's in downtown Toronto dates 4-7 June? Would need 2 rooms for 4 people visiting from Austria. Also any tips ideas for their first time visit to Toronto. Thanks!

Only you can define what you consider reasonably priced, but I found the Hilton to be surprisingly reasonable considering it's location. https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/torhihh-hilton-toronto/rooms/

Most of my recommendations for Toronto are sports themed such as catching a baseball game or a visit to the Hockey Hall of Fame. The Royal Ontario Museum is also worthy and all are an easy walk from the Hilton.

My favourite days in Toronto are not in Toronto. A day trip to Niagara on the Lake and Fort George are always a highlight.

Downtown Toronto is a bit of a mess at the moment and there's no end in sight. Not pleasant to walk around, construction and road repairs everywhere. Traffic is horrendous:

Horrible Traffic

Stay in Oakville and take the Go Train into Toronto, if you have to. Oakville has a very nice downtown core, a waterside trail and an impressive older neighbourhood by the lake. A few good restaurants. It also allows much easier access to NOTL by car.

Here's where I drink:

Gundersen's Watering Hole

I'll be in England in June, otherwise I'd buy you all a round.

Elora and Stratford, combined, is another very good day trip (instead of Toronto).

Toronto was the one city where I found the HOHO bus to be very worthwhile. It gave us a good overview of the downtown area, plus included a cruise on the lake. The CBN tower was a highlight as was the Broadway market. We stayed at the Marriott that is built into the Blue Jays stadium so we could see a couple of games.

We stayed at the Park Hyatt. Loved High Park, walking path along Lake Ontario, Gay Village, Kensington Market, Distillery District, and University of Toronto.

We just returned from a trip to Toronto for University tours for my son. I can not say enough fabulous things about the Omni King Edward Hotel. I am super picky and very hard to please and was thrilled by the service, the room, the food and walkability. There's a metro stop right next to the hotel and we were able to walk just about anywhere we wanted from there. We are fit and able to walk good distances. The hotel was clean, the staff could not have been more helpful, the room was perfect.
