DC, NYC & Boston Accommodation

Taking a US vacation this fall and looking to a 3-city trip - 5 nights in DC, 5 nights in New York, and 5 nights in Boston. Flying into DC and flying out of Boston with train travel between the 3 cities. While I used to frequent the cities, on business, I hadn’t ever taken the time to be a tourist, and that was all > 25 years ago. Not looking for what-to-dos in the cities but rather takes on accommodation. In DC, I stayed multiple times at what used to be the ANA Westin which looks to have morphed into a Fairmont hotel. In NYC, I stayed many times at the Essex House, and in Boston at the Westin Copley Square.

Drawing on the experience of the forum, are the aforementioned hotels still solid places to stay - I seem to remember them all as being in great locations in their respective cities.

I look forward to your comments.

If your budget allows, I recommend the Willard in DC. We stayed there over the Thanksgiving holiday last November. It is a lovely, historic hotel and very centrally located to the monuments, museums, White House and so on. https://washington.intercontinental.com/

If budget allows try the Kimpton Hotel Monaco between the National Portrait Gallery and the FBI building. We loved the historic building and its location. In Boston look along Back Bay for boutique hotels. We stayed at a cute hotel on Newbury St and loved it’s very walkable location. Haven’t stayed in NYC recently so can’t recommend an area or hotel there.
